Reading through the Season

It’s that time of year again: the season of literary pub crawls and plentiful reading series. As it happens, I’ve been invited to read at three different events in the coming months! If you’re in the Bay Area and would like to hear me read aloud, here’s where to go.

Hazel Reading Series: August 2018 Edition
August 20th, 8 to 9:30 pm
Red Poppy Art House // 2698 Folsom Street @ 23rd Street, San Francisco

Hazel Reading Series is an all-female event series, where the readers of each event nominate readers for the next month’s event. I was nominated by generous Foglifter Editor-in-Chief Luiza Flynn-Goodlett. I’m really excited to see what everyone reads!
Here’s the Facebook event.

The Racket #23: The Dark
Thursday, September 27th at 7:00 pm
Adobe Books // 3130 24th St, San Francisco

I’m a veteran Racket Reader–I think this is my fourth time reading with this fabulous, welcoming group at Adobe Books in The Mission. I love that their readings are themed. My last post, “The Ghost Story,” is a flash fiction piece I wrote specifically to read at The Racket: Ghosts. Come for the chance of hearing me read a brand-new piece that doesn’t even exist yet! Stay for cookies and beer and the tremendous readers that coordinator Noah Sanders always brings together.

Joyland at Lit Crawl SF
Saturday, October 20th from 5 to 6 pm
Craftsman and Wolves // 746 Valencia, San Francisco

I am SO EXCITED to be a part of this reading. Lit Crawl is a night of literary revelry in San Francisco each October, and Joyland has invited me to read from “The Boy Band” at their event. This reading is during leg 1, so you’ll have the chance to attend two other readings afterward, plus an afterparty if you’re so inclined. Joyland is a stupendous journal, and I can’t wait to hear the other readers they’ve assembled.
Look out for the Lit Crawl schedule here.
